The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is recruiting 1-2 PhD Students to work within the ERC-funded project “Lifespan inequalities: Why ages at death vary between countries and socioeconomic groups”. The PhD degree will be jointly supervised by Alyson van Raalte at the MPIDR and a collaborating partner from a leading European university. Successful candidates will have strong quantitative skills and a background in the social sciences, statistics or epidemiology. The positions are initially for 3 years with a possibility of extension. Candidates will be paid on a contract with a net salary that is typically around 1250 € per month, but can vary depending on factors such as experience and tax class. The starting date is flexible, but no later than September 2018.
