Notícias
Expressions of interest are invited for a workshop on Intermarriage, Social Mobility and the Persistence of Inequality at the Federal University of Viçosa, in Minas Gerais, Brazil May 15-17 2018. We are particularly interested in analysis of the circumstances favouring endogamy versus exogamy, why some societies develop distinctive patterns, and the significance of marriage patterns for social mobility and long-term inequality.
Submissions from junior scholars are particularly encouraged. Some funding to assist with local costs may be available.
Individual proposals in the form of a one or two page abstract should be sent to the organizing committee by October 15. Informal enquiries are welcome. Notification of acceptance will be given by December 1.
