Produced annually by the PRB since 1962, the Data Sheet is a reference document and educational tool that provides a unique snapshot of the demographic trends that shape our world today and envisions what we can expect in the future, including the most critical population, life. , and health indicators for over 200 countries and territories.

Among the key findings this year:

US fertility has fallen to 1.7, the lowest level in history. The overall total fertility rate continues to decline, but at 2.4 it remains high enough to ensure continued population growth.
Aging trends in many parts of the world are holding steady, with countries in Asia and Europe with some of the world's oldest populations and countries in Africa with some of the youngest.
By 2050, India will overtake China as the world's most populous country, with about 1.67 billion people, while more people will be living in Nigeria than in the United States.
